Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Development. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Development and is primarily responsible for serving as a fundraiser and event planner for the Development office of IU Kokomo.
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to developing, implementing and evaluating plans to increase annual giving revenue goals with special focus on annual staff and faculty campaign. Will manage a portfolio, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors. Will actively participate in campus and community events to build relationships. Will work with Development Director and Advancement staff in leading, coordinating and executing Development events. Along with working with individual donors, they will submit NGG (non-government) grant proposals for the good of the university. Will be responsible for keeping Development webpage up to date and other social media regarding the Office of Development. The position will require some overnight travel and flexible hours due to evening and weekend events.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field from an accredited institution is required. Position prefers 1-3 years fundraising experience. Must possess strong organizational skills, understanding of university fundraising; Interest, enthusiasm, and affinity for fundraising and working with people is required. Must comprehend the importance of strong stewardship. Ideal candidate will possess a high degree of initiative, positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, immediate follow up and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Ability to understand and respect confidentiality is a must. The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license.
