Job Description Summary
The Event Operations Assistant works with supervision and instruction to perform a variety of tasks and functions as it pertains to the daily operation of the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, a multipurpose arena that hosts a variety of events including Wake Forest University Men's and Women's basketball, high school athletic tournaments, concerts, shows, graduations, conventions, etc. The Event Operations Assistant will primarily assist the Assistant AD, External Event and Facility Operations and Associate Director, LJVM Coliseum with the venue management and operations of the LJVM Coliseum. The Event Operations Assistant will also assist with day-to-day and event management operations for other athletic programs and facilities.
Assists with the planning, execution and venue management of events. Events may include concerts, conventions, performances, trade shows, athletic events, corporate, and other special events.
Serves in a support role for preparations and game management of all home football games, men's basketball games, women's basketball games, and other intercollegiate athletic events as assigned.
Assists with conversions, setups, tear downs, change-overs, and general building operations as necessary.
Assists in coordinating assigned practice and game day management aspects (maintenance, scheduling, cleaning, set-up, parking, ticket takers, catering, and concessions, etc.) for assigned events at the LJVM Coliseum.
Coordinates facility maintenance with athletic turf and facilities department, tracking work order requests, timely completion, and managing projects.
Coordinates and manages LJVM Coliseum Lost and Found and Guest Services programs.
Assists with event parking ticket inventory and operations.
Assists with organizing employees necessary to prepare facilities for the constant fluctuation of events.
Assists with supervision of student workers and contracted staff as may be appropriate for events.
Assists in the game and venue management for all assigned postseason NCAA or ACC events.
Assists with monitoring athletic facility usage.
Assists in the implementation of customer service section of the Athletic Department's Strategic Plan.
Reports any potential ACC and NCAA rules violations to the Director, Arena Events.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD, Events, Facilities, and Operations and the Director, Event Operations.
