The Learning Specialist will provide assistance to students working and receiving services at the Pirate Academic Success Center at East Carolina University. This position will report to an Assistant Director of the Pirate Academic Success Center.
The role and responsibilities of the Learning Specialist are: 1)Plan academic skill building programs and present to academic classes, freshman seminar, and student groups. 2)Assist PASC staff with PASC tutoring and mentoring activities. 3)Assist with the hiring, training, and supervision of student staff. 4)Support the growth of programs and services. 5)Work in collaboration with faculty, staff and campus partners to meet student tutorial and academic support needs. 6)Represent the PASC to the public, key stakeholders, and campus organizations. 7)Serve as a resource for campus support services available to students, making necessary referrals to project staff and other campus support services as needed. 8)Other duties as assigned.
