The School of Education and Social Policy: There are many opportunities in higher education, but none like the School of Education and Social Policy (SESP) at Northwestern University. On Twitter and Instagram, SESP has embraced the hashtag #SESPlove and our small school has a strong sense of community. Our students, faculty, and staff are motivated to make life better, whether we focus on the individual, family, organization, or country. We dedicate our teaching, research, creative work, and service to this goal.

At SESP, we’re helping science classrooms shift from learning about the science others have done to challenging students to figure out how the natural world works. The current research efforts examine how teachers learn to change to a new type of science learning, as outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
