Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. The Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement will be responsible to develop relationships with alumni and parents of the College. The Director will be contacting these alumni and parents through personal visits, telephone, email or written communications for the purpose of growing interest and building resources for Trinity Christian College. The Director will be the Chief Alumni Relations Officer for the College. Additional responsibilities will be supervising the efforts of the Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement, working directly with the Alumni Association Board, and working directly with the Parent Advisory Board.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Build relationships with new or existing Trinity Christian College alumni and parents connecting them with the mission of the College.
Work with colleagues in the advancement office and others from Trinity’s campus community to develop strategies to engage alumni and parents with the College.
Manage a portfolio of alumni and parents for consistent involvement and ongoing engagement in the College.
Develop an effective engagement plan for all alumni and parents within the assigned portfolio.
Provide written documentation of all contacts with external constituents as outlined in the advancement offices procedures
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Attend all major College events that involve Alumni and parents as well as certain College visit days, Alumni Association Board meetings, and Parents Council meetings. Additional out of town travel will be required throughout the year.
Create and execute an annual plan of communication and meetings for the Alumni Board and Parent Advisory Board
Advancement Office Administration and Support
Work with VP for Advancement and Advancement Team to establish annual goals, strategic planning activities, and manage board initiatives.
Actively manage and support the work of the Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement which includes direct supervision of the Troll Nation Network.
Foster teamwork with other advancement office staff.
Attend key local events to which Trinity Christian College alumni and parents are invited.
Other qualifications include:
Experience in alumni and parent engagement and stewarding support for an organization.
Alternatively, successful experience in an outside sales role, which includes prospecting, client cultivation, care, and relationship building.
Excellent communication skills, including the abilities to listen well, speak and write competently with clarity and persuasion.
A passion to build long term relationships where care for the alumni or parent is as important as success for the college
Represent Trinity Christian College with a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to adapt communications styles and relate to different expressions of the Christian community.
Understand the qualification process to determine placement of alumni into mid-level and major donors.
Learn and execute current systems and procedures for daily operations.
Maintain regular and accurate reporting in our alumni management system.
Bachelor’s degree is required, with Graduate degree preferred in areas of business management, development, marketing, communications, or public relations. Five years of experience in fundraising/development, customer service, outside sales, or face-to-face interaction with customers/donors/clients. Computer literate with proficiency in all communication arenas including social media and electronic mail programs. Ability to work in all Microsoft Office Suite programs is required. Ability to work in a technological environment and to utilize the College’s data-base effectively.
