School of Art Architecture and Design at Indiana University Bloomington is seeking applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate digital art. This will be a one-year appointment, which may be extended for one additional year. Continuation of the appointment is based on effective performance of assigned duties, school funding, and continuation of programmatic needs. All renewals must be approved by the Dean. Teaching responsibilities consist of digital media courses at all levels, including interactive multimedia, digital imaging, HTML/CSS, video, and BFA/MFA seminar with the curriculum in the fine arts context. The position begins August 2019.
SoAAD (https://soaad.indiana.edu/) is dedicated to a faculty composed of diverse scholars and practitioners. The successful candidate will demonstrate the values we try to cultivate in our students: to be curious, collaborative, and adaptable in a global art world. Applicants are sought whose portfolios and research span studio art and design, and whose teaching will address the broad ranging implications of this intersection in contemporary art.
Responsibilities include teaching courses during the academic year, participating in BFA and MFA critiques, conducting studio visits, assisting in upkeep of the digital art studio, providing service as needed by the area and school, and maintain and pursue professional and academic expertise. Studio space provided when available.
We seek candidates who can provide collegial initiative in a team-based environment. A strong candidate will have demonstrated an ability to work successfully with students, facul-ty, administration and the community.

All qualified candidates must have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree by the start date of employment.
Two years of teaching experience past the MFA is preferred.
