A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated Ph.D., in an established laboratory focused on breast cancer prevention. The successful candidate will dedicate his/her postdoctoral study to understanding how selective progesterone receptor modulators (SPRMs) regulate the expression of HER2 and its amplicon, and SPRMs’ effect on the expression of interferon (IFN) signaling pathway intermediates.
The fellow will drive this project, which is derivative of our currently funded R-01. The project will make use of cell culture, transfection/transduction, gene editing and silencing techniques (e.g., CRISPR-cas9, si/shRNA), immunoblotting, qRT-PCR, co-Immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation, analysis of high throughput sequencing data and chromatin immunoprecipitation as well as other traditional cellular and molecular biology techniques. Prior work experience with animals such as transgenic mice and xenograft models of cancer would be a plus.
To conduct laboratory experiments using techniques including but not limited to cell culture, transfection/transduction, gene editing and silencing, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, etc.
To help write grants and compete for funding
To supervise students and other techs working in the lab
To help write and contribute to publications resulting from research done in the lab
