Indiana University Southeast's Department of Theatre invites applications for the position of Lecturer of Theatre / Technical Director. The position will begin August 1, 2019. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Arts and Letters.
Responsibilities include teaching no less than one theatre class per semester with the possibility of more; supervising the daily running of the Theatre Department Scene Shop with a student labor force; participation in the building, installation, and striking of each departmental production; working with the design faculty in the technical planning/application of each production. A possibility of designing exists, depending on the skills of the successful applicant. This position also works closely with theatre students and the artistic/administrative staff. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work with current students in a mentor role, be willing to participate in recruiting students in the region to the program, and to interface with area high school faculty and their theatre programs.

Required qualifications: MFA in Theatre required; supervisory experience in professional theatre or comparable design industry, teaching experience at a college level or equivalent is preferred. Experience in all areas of theatrical costuming is required with at least one area of specialization. Candidates must be thoroughly grounded in scenery construction, rigging, welding, drafting and scene shop safety.
