The Laboratory for Wound Repair and Regenerative Surgery (Drs. Robert Galiano, Thomas Mustoe, and Seok Jong Hong) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a research associate to conduct research on the molecular regulation of tissue repair and fibrosis. The mission of our lab is to bring together clinicians and scientists with the ultimate goal of developing new therapeutic strategies for wound healing, tissue repair and regeneration that could be successfully applied to clinical practice. Selected papers from our lab include Sci Transl Med (2015) 7:312ra177, J Invest Dermatol. (2017) 137:650, Wound Repair Regen (2017) 25:327. This position is for 1-3 years, depending on the performance of the candidate. The position is available as early as June 2019 at a competitive salary and benefits.
The researcher will perform research on tissue repair and fibrosis using in vivo modeling including rodent and rabbit wound models. Specific responsibilities include performing research, data analysis, manuscript preparation, presentations at relevant scientific meetings, and related duties as required or assigned.
Please Note Normal laboratory environment. Risks of occupational exposure to pathogens, chemicals, and computer screen exposure etc. during the performance of assigned duties.
Perform research on tissue repair and fibrosis using in vivo modeling.

Other duties as assigned.
The candidates should have a PhD (or M.D) in a relevant field. The candidate with extensive experience in animal surgery with a bachelor’s or master’s degree will be also considered.
Experience in animal surgery.
