The Department of Education in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College seeks applications for two adjunct faculty to teach the following courses during the 2019-2020 Academic Year. Support for course design and alignment to learning outcomes will be provided by the department.
Individuals interested in these positions must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in a related area and work experience related to the course content. Excellence in college-level, student-centered teaching is expected.

2019-2020 Academic Year Dates Fall Semester – August 19, 2019-December 11, 2019 Spring Semester – January 6, 2020-April 29, 2020
Courses Position 1: EDUC 326 Science Methods for Elementary, Mon/Wed 4:00-5:35 PM 1 section in Fall and 1 section in Spring (8 cr. total) Course description: Introduction to methods for teaching science in elementary school classrooms including instruction and assessment strategies. Emphasis on differentiated instruction, indirect teaching methods and teaching and assessment strategies that facilitate high level learning.
Position 2: EDUC 228 Social Studies Methods for Elementary, Tues/Thurs 3:35-5:10 PM 1 section in Spring only (4 cr. total) Course description: Introduction to methods of teaching social studies in the elementary classroom including instructional and assessment strategies. Emphasis on direct teaching, interactive instructional strategies and assessment strategies that develop the skills and processes needed to help elementary students acquire foundational, conceptual and procedural knowledge.
Course schedules for 2019-2020 are set and students have begun the process of enrolling. Changes to the days and times are not possible.
