Location: 401 N. Michigan Avenue
1) The Data Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the Associate Director to support strategic analytical projects at Booth.
2) The Analyst will work on a multitude of projects including but not limited to survey design, primary and secondary data collection, organization and analysis.
3) This also includes closely tracking and communicating project timelines with the team and its internal and external partners.
4) The Data Analyst will work with the Institutional Research and Strategic Insights team, senior leadership, centers and internal and external departments, including the Deans.
5) Manages ongoing operations regarding primary data collection for various surveys that are conducted internally and externally on behalf of Booth.
6) Cleans, organizes and analyzes the results to understand any changes that different Booth constituents experience and disseminates the results and analyses to the Deans and Senior Staff.
7) Monitors Boothâ™s internal surveying policies, designs frequent communication for policy implementation, and provides training and support to different teams when necessary.
8) Manages projects in a diligent fashion to guarantee that the timelines are closely followed and met on a consistent basis.
9) Provides administrative and analytical support for ad hoc requests prioritized by the Senior Associate Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Insights.
1) Strong proficiency with survey design, data cleaning, manipulation, reporting, analysis, and visualization in Microsoft Excel. (e.g. writing functions, creating charts, Pivot Tables, etc.).
2) Proficiency with Tableau software.
3) Proven ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create and deliver cohesive presentations.
4) Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills.
5) Ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
6) Excellent project management skills - proven ability to respond to and prioritize multiple, simultaneous project requests with stringent deadlines.
7) Working knowledge of statistical software (preferably R, Python), statistical methods (e.g. t-tests, regression analysis, etc.) and familiarity with relational database reporting (e.g. Business Objects Web Intelligence).
8) Working knowledge of primary/secondary research methods, including survey design and analysis.
9) Knowledge of top tier higher education market/institutions.
10 ) Ability to work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; ability to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes.
11) Ability to work on project simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
12) Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty and corporate contacts.
13) Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.
1) A minimum of two years of relevant work.
