The Marketing and Communications Manager for the Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts is responsible for revenue generation from marketing and promotion of events produced or presented by the Wirtz Center as well as fundraising. Their main responsibility is to develop and implement a marketing plan for the Center’s Mainstage and Summer season designed to attain the Center’s income goals. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for scheduling, development, coordination, production, and dissemination of all print and media advertising, promotional mail campaigns, display advertising, website maintenance and event programs. They will work closely with the Managing Director and the Office of Global Marketing in coordinating press releases, media coverage, event reviews, press conferences, and special events. The position will also create and implement and annual fundraising plan in consultation with the Managing Director.
Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all promotional and marketing campaigns in support of the Center’s events. Events include, but are not limited to;
Mainstage season of 8 productions, Summer season, studio theater presentations, annual dance concert, the Waa-Mu show, and various events either produced or presented by the Center.
Marketing campaign components may include, but not limited to: season brochures, mass, direct, and targeted mailings; print, broadcast, and media advertising; display advertising; digital and social media marketing; press releases; print or media feature articles and stories.
Supervise the creative and cost-effective development of graphics for promotional and marketing materials for all Center produced events.
Manage the marketing budget in order to maximize efficient and effective use of vendors and adherence to budget parameters.
Develop systems for monitoring the success of revenue strategies (subscription income, single ticket income, and contributions).
Coordinate, schedule, and manage promotional and archival photo shoots and sessions for Wirtz Center produced events.
Coordinate and supervise the maintenance of the Wirtz Center website, insuring its accuracy, maximizing its effectiveness, and coordinating links to other campus sites that interact with the Center.
Develop and implement annual fundraising campaign including individual solicitations and grants.
Supervise and coordinate the timely production and accuracy of event programs for all Wirtz Center produced activities.
Act as the key contact person for the Wirtz Center in all interactions with representatives and organizations of the press, media, and broadcast services coordinating communication with the Office of Global Marketing.
Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by Managing Director.
Performs other duties as assigned.
At least 3-5 year of marketing experience for an arts or nonprofit organization.
Some supervisory experience.
Graphic design skills or experience working with graphic artists.
Some experience maintaining a website and with social and digital media platforms.

This position requires the ability to multi-task, coordinate, plan, communicate, work with students and faculty. The position collaborates with multiple university and public-facing constituents.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
5+ years’ experience in marketing and development.

The ability to multi-task, coordinate, plan, communicate, work with students and faculty and have a strong knowledge of marketing in the arts and subscription-based marketing.
