Under direction of the Chairmen, the Director of Department Business Operations directs, plans, guides, and evaluates the operational and business activities of the neurology and psychiatry departments. Directs business operations of neurology and psychiatry ambulatory service sites. Is accountable for the departments business operating results, including department capital budgets and expenditures. Directs and empowers administrative staff to develop cost effective services and work processes. Supervises the clinical staff to provide quality patient care. Assists and reports to department chairs. Maintains and oversees projections, variance analysis, and monthly reports. Makes recommendations to chairmen for cost savings or revenue enhancements. Monitors monthly physician profit and loss statements and assists in development of action plan for those who are outliers from targets set in charters.
