The Director of Undergraduate Admissions reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and is a member of the Enrollment Management leadership team.Â In collaboration with the VP, the Director develops and refines a robust and innovative enrollment strategy designed to meet the undergraduate enrollment goals of the University.Â The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will also be responsible for the management of the officeâ™s daily operation, including recruitment, admission and marketing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Play an active, measurable role in increasing awareness and interest in Montclair State University throughout the region, nationally and internationally
Work closely with the VP in developing state, national, and international strategies to support the recruitment, enrollment and retention of undergraduate students.
Supervise and develop and implement performance standards for the Undergraduate Admissions staff and provide guidance, mentorship, and counsel to cultivate a talented and highly performing team.
Develop and enact policies and procedures to support the attainment of aggressive enrollment goals for first year, transfer, readmit, and Early College students.
Deploy, maintain and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of innovative recruitment technology, techniques and vendor partnerships in support of the universityâ™s strategic plan.
Expand the universityâ™s community college and high school partnerships to include initiatives such as reverse transfer, and expand on existing dual admission and articulation agreements.
Work closely with the VP and the Office of Financial Aid to develop a predictive model to optimize the use of aid in order to maximize yield.
Work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management Data & Technology to develop a culture of data-driven decision making.
Monitor and evaluate the execution of the recruitment and admission strategy for freshman and transfer students, and make adjustments to the strategy as necessary.
Assist the Vice President in establishing and forecasting the undergraduate new student enrollment projections
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS include:
Masterâ™s degree in a related field;
Professional and leadership experience in higher education undergraduate admissions and in student retention programs;
Substantial experience working with student enterprise systems;
Demonstrated expertise in developing marketing and communication strategies for student recruitment;
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills;
Strong oral and written communication skills; including extensive public speaking experience;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
Demonstrated experience delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse array of customers;
Experience with Banner, Slate CRM and applicant management systems, budget planning, fund management, and data analytics modeling;
Experience working in the public sector in a unionized environment;
Demonstrated commitment to the creation and success of a highly diverse student population.Â
