The Department of Physical Therapy in the John G. Rangos, Sr. School of Health Sciences at Duquesne University is seeking a 12-month, full-time tenure-track faculty member to serve as the coordinator of curricular content in the area of clinical management of patients with neurological impairments and to teach professional phase students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Research resources include a motion analysis lab with electromyography and force plates, fully equipped exercise physiology equipment, and a cadaver laboratory.
This appointment is scheduled to start on July 1, 2021. Salary is competitive.

The Department of Physical Therapy at Duquesne University is accredited by CAPTE and offers an early assurance, six-year DPT program. Students are admitted as freshmen, earn two bachelor's degrees after four years and, after their sixth year, a doctoral degree. Duquesne University is located in downtown Pittsburgh. Works collaboratively with the Program Director and curriculum committee to coordinate the clinical neurological portion of the curriculum and to adhere to CAPTE standards.
Develops and progress a scholarly agenda in compliance with the faculty handbook and CAPTE standards commensurate with training and expertise.
Teaches didactic coursework within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program (see preferred attributes).
Advises and mentor students.
Contributes to university, school, departmental, and professional service.
Terminal academic (PhD./EdD./DSc) degree, ABD with evidence of progress toward completion, or DPT with evidence of research experience/agenda considered.
Proof of or eligibility for licensure to practice physical therapy in any United States Jurisdictions.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice, clinical teaching and/or classroom teaching experience.
Technologically adept – Ability to effectively work with and learn modern relevant computer software (e.g. Blackboard, Zoom etc.).
Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching and scholarship within the tenure stream according to university standards.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines effectively.
Prior university level classroom and laboratory teaching experience, including use of remote learning platforms as indicated.
Content expertise to teach coursework (didactic and laboratory) in clinical management of persons with neurological impairments.
Active membership in the APTA and the Academy of Neurological Physical Therapy.
