FACILITY OPERATIONS-IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA)
The mission of the IU Bloomington Facility Operations is to operate and maintain a high-quality physical environment to enhance student learning, faculty teaching and research. We serve other non-academic departments, and we support the University's service to the community and citizens of Indiana.

Mows, trims, and edges turf areas using riding mower, push mower, weed whip, and edger. Mulches, weeds, removes thatch, aerates, and trims and edges around flower beds, walks, pathways, and walls. Prepares planting beds with hand and power tools; integrates soil amendments. Plants bulbs, flowers, ground covers, trees, and shrubs; applies mulch. Prunes trees, shrubs, vines, and hedges; rakes leaves.
Performs snow and ice removal with hand tools and power equipment.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including general building maintenance duties. Drives University vehicles as needed. Work any shift as needed. 24-hour a day emergency response as needed. Assists with snow removal activities as necessary. Must be available to work during inclement weather (i.e. snow and ice) when weather emergencies dictate that the department is needed to take care of the campus.
High school diploma or GED and landscape or grounds-related work experience.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques and methods of landscaping and maintenance of lawns and formal plantings including pruning techniques, plant identification, and ability to observe unsightly areas. Ability to operate one-ton dump-bed truck. Ability to operate riding and push mowers, power tillers, power edgers, weed whips, blowers, sprayers, large tractors, small tractors, skid steer loaders, RTV or utility vehicles, and basic hand tools. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
Working Conditions / Demands
Carrying up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift. Use of ladders during shift. Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
