Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Job Family: Administrative Professional - Not OT Eligible Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Spokane Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Director manages the daily operations and strategic objectives of the Center's program, and is responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and assessing middle and high school programs in the Northeastern Washington area. The focus for each program is the student, with the primary interest to provide mathematics, engineering, technology and science programs for African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander and female populations. The Center Director works closely with Eastern Washington University (EWU) MESA Co- Sponsors for the Spokane Center. The Center Director may collaborate with either the University Sponsor or the Statewide Director as the situation requires. The Director receives advice and counsel from the Washington MESA office, the local Spokane Advisory Board, and the other MESA Directors in Washington State. In addition to classroom instruction, the MESA Program offers various events including MESA field trips, MESA Day regional competition , Summer Programming and MESA teacher professional development. Essential Duties: Leadership - 50% Program Development and Management - 30% Fiscal Management - 15% Other - 5% Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional Requirements:
