Clinical faculty hired under this PVL will have an A basis (12 month) appointment and be responsible for undergraduate instruction and evaluation of student learning in the classroom, in simulated care environments, skills labs, and through experiential learning in acute care settings in academic year and summer terms. Assignment to teach in graduate programs (Doctor of Nurse Practice or PhD) is also possible depending on expertise, qualifications, and program need. Clinical faculty collaborate with colleagues in course and curriculum development, improvement, and evaluation; engage in service activities aimed at accomplishing the mission and strategic vision of the School of Nursing including committees and taskforces; pursue scholarly activities individually or in scholarship teams that advance nursing science, education, or practice; and contribute to School of Nursing and University of Wisconsin Madison goals for diversity and inclusive excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Teach in baccalaureate (accelerated, traditional, and AD to BSN completion) and/or DNP programs as appropriate to expertise, qualifications, and program need.
* Teach using strategies to include active learning, simulated experiential learning, online learning, and clinical experiential learning in hospital or other health care or community care settings or in community care situations as required by course assignments.
* Collaborate with other faculty on curriculum and course planning at the graduate and undergraduate levels, using concept and competency-based teaching strategies and assessment at the undergraduate level.
* Contribute to the School of Nursing mission through service activities (e.g. governance committees, outreach activities, or project task groups).
* Pursue areas of scholarly interest (e.g. evaluation studies to improve teaching and learning).
* Collaborate with colleagues in practice settings through academic-practice partnerships to contribute to student learning, practice improvement, or community outreach.
* Work to support and enhance the diversity, climate, and inclusive excellence of the School of Nursing.
* Engage in other activities appropriate to a member of the School of Nursing academic community, such as attending School meetings, participating in faculty development activities, and contributing to meeting the mission and vision of the School.

* One or more years of experience in teaching or precepting students at undergraduate or graduate level in nursing, or in professional staff development in acute care settings; and
* Three or more years of professional experience in an acute care setting as a registered nurse (RN), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
* Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interest in and commitment to the teaching mission of the School.
* Experience with clinical instruction, active learning, competency-based teaching, simulation, and inter-professional education is highly desirable.

Appointments for candidates prepared at the Masters level will be at the rank of Clinical Instructor. Appointments for candidates prepared at the doctoral level will typically be at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank.

Individuals with certification in one or more clinical specialties or as an advanced practice registered nurse, clinical nurse specialist, or nurse educators are strongly encouraged to apply; however, certification is not required.

This position requires most work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. The person in this position may request and be considered for a formal remote work agreement based on guidelines set forth by the School of Nursing, and/or may be provided with remote work flexibility as needed and approved by the supervisor.

The expected salary for this position starts at a rate of $88,978. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
