The Maintenance Repair Worker for the Department of Residence Life is responsible for a wide variety of non-technical, semi-skilled  level of work requiring less than a journeyman level of expertise in all areas. Work is performed in all designated interior and exterior department areas including but not limited entrances, offices, residence halls, apartments, townhouses, the central offices, laundry rooms, conference rooms, classrooms, study rooms, lounges, storage rooms, walkways, stairwells, attics, storage rooms, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, roofs, utility rooms, sheds, sidewalks, grounds, and areas. This position involves and requires hands-on attention to detail and in many kinds of weather conditions. Work will also include basic inventory, computer logs, work orders, emails, memos, radio use, verbal and written communication, and interactions with the students, faculty, and staff. The Maintenance Repair work also assists to all associated tradesman with prior approval through supervisors. The position includes the need to respond to emergencies outside of normal work hours when deemed necessary in evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The Maintenance Repair Worker will work under the direct supervision of any of the following: Maintenance Repair Worker Foreman (if applicable), Assistant Facilities Manager, Assistant Director of Residence Life, or the Director of Residence Life.
